How To :
- Apply a smoothing serum to your hair and grab your blow dryer. Make sure every bit of moisture is out of your hair—this will ensure a longer hold for the curls.
- Part your hair on the opposite side of where you want the final deep side part to be placed: you’ll get much better volume this way. With a 1.5” curling iron start to curl your hair section by section.
- Keep curling, section by section, and apply hair spray as you go to ensure hold.
- Once completely curled, determine where you want to place the deep side part and flip your hair over. Lightly tease a section of hair at your crown for added volume.
- Take a section of hair from the parted side and separate it into two pieces. Twist the pieces together, adding bits of hair—as though you were French braiding—as you move towards the nape of your neck.
- Pin the twist at the nape of your neck and use your fingers to comb through the curls, breaking apart the structure. Once your hair is wavy to your liking, add a final spray of hairspray and get ready to enjoy your night!

Summer is sweltering, but you can look stunning. Summer is sweaty, but you can look sexy. How, you ask? All you need to do is follow the summer fashion trends 2013 and make sure that you put your best fashion foot forward.

Fashion trends follow a cyclical nature just like the seasons of nature. As the seasons change, so does fashion. It is only natural because fashion mimics life. And doesn’t life change (OK, just a little) from summer to winter? In fact, sometimes some of these changes occur unconsciously. For instance, summers find you opting for lighter shades, while in winters you veer towards darker hues. Fabrics change when seasons change. It would indeed be rare (and foolish) to don fur in summer or cotton in winter, don’t you think?

And 2013 summer fashion merely presents these natural trends in a more formalized and innovative manner. The basics remain the same, but every year in summer fashion trends, something new and innovative is added, either from the designer’s creative processes or external inspirations which makes it unique for that season.

And of course, fashion you see today is always an evolution from the past, so don’t be surprised if you find heavy influences of summer 2012 fashion trends in 2013 summer fashion.

Going through the list of topics which I didn't have the opportunity to address earlier, I came across an IO9 article about RL Steampunk Fashion tips (aka, Steampunk Fashion on a Budget). It provides a list of useful suggestion, though some seem a bit academic (e.g. "Be Creative" - I would assume that would be a key element of anyone desiring to build their own ensemble, vice purchasing one outright). However, it does highlight other good tips, including advice on design (including a link to the Steampunk Fashion LJ community, moderated by the lovely Miss Evelyn Kriete, a frequent contributor to the Steampunk Tribune).
